Planning Excavation Strategies at a Nursing Home in Downestown, Co. Meath
Archaeological excavation of three Bronze Age burnt mounds/ fulachtaí fia was undertaken in advance of a nursing home development in Downestown, Duleek. Logistical problems of undertaking large scale wetland archaeological excavation in winter whilst facilitating the construction timetable were surmounted to ensure a continuous workflow for all sub contractors engaged in the project.
