John O'Connor has been a professional field archaeologist since graduating in 1997. He joined Rubicon Heritage Services in 2015 and is an archaeological Site Manager attached to the Cork office. He has 19 years’ experience of directing and managing a range of both urban and rural archaeological projects in the consultancy sector, dealing with high profile clients such as Transport Infrastructure Ireland, Gas Networks Ireland, and numerous county councils. John is particularly interested in the archaeology of the medieval period, especially urban archaeology. He values an interdisciplinary approach to site interpretation including the use of contemporary historical sources and has contributed historical research to many projects.
