Damian has been with Rubicon Heritage Services (formerly Headland Archaeology Ireland) since 2006, first as Post-Excavation Manager and later as Operations Manager. In that time he has managed a large number of high profile projects, ranging from post-excavation works on major road schemes to archaeological consultancy projects for central Government, such as the Irish Battlefields Project and the National Archaeological Archive Scoping Report.
Prior to joining the company Damian worked as an Assistant Keeper at the National Museum of Ireland, and was part of the team that created the awarded winning ‘Soldiers & Chiefs’ military history exhibition. He is also a specialist in military archaeology and has published and lectured internationally on topics such as conflict archaeology, the post-excavation process and archaeology and social media.
