Claudia Tommasino Suárez has been the Rubicon Heritage Services faunal remains specialist since 2010. Since receiving her MA in Osteoarchaeology from the University of Southampton she has worked on a wide array of sites across Scotland, England, Ireland and Venezuela.
These have ranged from prehistoric assemblages such as that from Berwick Field, Winchester, to medieval remains like those from Kisimul Castle, Isle of Barra. Claudia has worked on a number of large scale projects, often analysing in excess of 10,000 animal bones such as those from the N9/N10 Scheme in Co. Kildare. Claudia also works as a Tangible and Intangible Cultural Heritage Researcher for Venezuela on projects relating to nominations to UNESCO’s World Heritage List and is part of the U40 international group to raise awareness of the UNESCO’s Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.
