Project Officer

Rubicon Heritage want to appoint a Project Officer to join our growing team operating from our office in the historic town of Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire. Rubicon Heritage is a CIfA Registered Organisation and we are the only major archaeological contractor with offices in both the UK and Ireland. The successful candidate will be expected to supervise a range of projects according to skills and experience. They should have demonstrable experience of successfully supervising projects and teams, be flexible, driven and innovative, with excellent communication skills. Support will be provided to the successful applicant for career and professional development.

Potential candidates should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Appropriate experience of leading and participating in the archaeological fieldwork and reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Varied archaeological experience (rural and urban)
  • Good knowledge of British archaeology
  • Good knowledge of relevant legislation and frameworks
  • Understanding of commercial archaeology and client liaison
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety considerations pertaining to archaeology
  • Willingness to contribute to the continued growth and expansion of Rubicon Heritage UK
  • Complete flexibility with regard to travel

A full clean driving licence and current CSCS card are essential. SSSTS or SMSTS qualifications (or similar) will be advantageous. CIFA membership welcomed – all subscription fees paid by the company. The position is a permanent role and is subject to a 6 month probation period.

Salary range dependent on skills, experience and responsibility: £27, 607 to £30,434 pa.

 Transport and travel time is paid, with accommodation and subsistence payment provided for overnight stays away from our office base.
