Due to recent large contract wins we are looking for archaeologists for an immediate start on excavations ahead of a road scheme just west of Cardiff, and for a major excavation project in Suffolk as well as a wdie portfolio of work across southern England.

Archaeological Team Leaders (Project Officers and Project Supervisors)
The successful candidates will be expected to supervise a range of projects according to skills and experience. They should have demonstrable experience of successfully supervising projects and be flexible, driven and innovative, with excellent communication skills. Support will be provided to the successful applicant in the form of training and mentoring from the experienced management team at Rubicon.
For Project Manager and Team Leader posts, potential candidates should be able to demonstrate the following:
- Appropriate experience of leading and participating in the archaeological fieldwork and reporting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Varied archaeological experience (rural and urban)
- Good knowledge of British archaeology
- Good knowledge of relevant legislation and frameworks
- Understanding of commercial archaeology and client liaison
- Knowledge of Health & Safety considerations pertaining to archaeology
- Willingness to contribute to the continued growth and expansion of Rubicon Heritage UK
- Complete flexibility with regard to travel
A full clean driving licence and current CSCS card are essential. SSSTS or SMSTS qualifications (or similar) will be advantageous. CIFA membership welcomed. The position is a permanent role and is subject to a 6 month probation period.
Salary range: Team leaders dependent on skills, experience and responsibility (£27,607 to £30,434 pa for MCIfA level and £ 21,359 to 23,000 for ACIfA)
We are looking for individuals to carry out archaeological fieldwork with at least three months UK or Irish commercial archaeology experience, although relevant European commercial experience will also be considered. Applicants should be able to work well as part of a team and have a flexible approach to what is often a dynamic working environment. CSCS card preferred.
Committed to training and CPD for all our staff across the company, we have recently adopted the BAJR Skills Passport to help develop and document our team’s fieldwork skills and a completed training log from this or a similar scheme will be advantageous.
£ 18,337 to 20,500 pa for PCIfA level skills and experience, with appointments made on the basis of demonstrated ability, previous experience and CIfA membership as appropriate.
