EDINBURGH TRAMS PROJECT, SCOTLAND

Rubicon Heritage Services conducted the osteoarchaeological analysis of two post-medieval cemeteries excavated as part of the Edinburgh Trams Project. One of the largest urban post-medieval cemeteries to be excavated in Scotland was located at South Leith Parish Church, Constitution Street, which yielded 378 skeletons, while a smaller cemetery containing 10 skeletons was discovered at London Road. The Rubicon team carried out full osteological analysis and report on both sites, revealing insights into the the lives and deaths of these early post-medieval Scots.
